Vote Labour… they don’t care.
June 18th, 2008Everyone’s Laughing at Labour!
May 28th, 2008This from www.kiwiblog.co.nz…
Poor Labour is having a hard time with the precious Electoral Finance Act.
First of all they had to delete any mentions of “Labour” from the budget press releases in case that got the Treasury Secretary prosecuted.
Bill English has just pointed out that by that reasoning the Dept of Internal Affairs is breaking the law, with the Beehive website. The site is scattered with statements statements designed to encourage people to vote Labour.
and from www.whaleoil.co.nz…
The Electoral Finance Act is turning out to be a real bear for the government. They are the only ones getting pinged and their mates at the EPMU look like they have lost their voice through their fawning support of Labour’s draconian bill.
The latest laugh though is surely the most amusing. I have now heard through several sources and confirmed with my own eyes that Labour’s bosses are in a fluster over the EFA. So flustered in fact that they have ordered them down.
The only site that is up is the taxpayer funded www.labour.org.nz, that given current interpretations of the EFA will probably be deemed to be an election advertisement anyway despite the public paying for it.

Greens Breach Electoral Finance Act
May 3rd, 2008Constant scourge of the Labour Government, Blair Mulholland draws our attention to Green hypocrisy.
“Normally I wouldn’t give a toss about a few Green Party posters put up near my house. This used to be a democracy, so in theory they should be able to put up whatever they like. The only trouble is that, since they voted for such draconian electoral law, you’d think they would be able to avoid breaking it?”

poster promoting Green Party, but where’s the authorisation statement?
“Note also that these are not old posters. They are only a couple of weeks old, and were put out AFTER Labour and ACT were already rapped over the knuckles. You have to wonder at the breathtaking arrogance of it all. Did they really think the new rules would only apply to National and not to them? Well sorry, you vile pack of communists, if we can’t have our free speech then neither can you.”

Patriot John Defies Govt. From Grave
May 3rd, 2008Whaleoil picks up on a death notice in the Herald (Friday, May 02 2008), and asks “is John’s death notice a breach of the Electoral Finance Act”. It’s come to this, that death-notices must be scrutinized by government agents, to ensure that they do not breach electoral law. It’s a crying shame.
…He cherished his family above all else. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, John says “VOTE NATIONAL”…

Here’s to John.
