Don't Vote Labour

Anti-labour website ‘gift for government’

I found this in today’s edition of the Christchurch Star

Ahem, Mr. Northcote, where are you getting that from “If you had a website that looks like it is from a group, then that would not be covered under the law” - I never saw that when I read the relevant section of the Electoral Finance Act.

Oh, and whoops! I forgot to put my name and home address on that election advertisment…

Why is the electoral commission’s communications manager making statements like this?:

“One of the principles of a democry is that you know who the participants are, and you know who is making the statements.”

His job is to talk to the media on behalf of the EC who are meant to uphold the law not decide (or comment on) what the law should be.

Keep up the good work Andy. I admire your timing too - relaunching on the brink of Helen’s big day out in the House - that’s classy!
